IP Design for Houquan Ecological Park, Jiajiang, Leshan, Sichuan
Set against the background of Houquan Ecological Park in Jiajiang, Leshan, Sichuan, this project focuses on IP character design rooted in ecological agriculture and regional culture. By extracting visual characteristics related to the brand, local identity, and agricultural products, the project transforms relatively scattered cultural information into a unified and recognizable IP character, which is further extended into brand presentation and application scenarios.
OBSERVE
Agricultural brands often possess rich regional and cultural resources, yet these elements can be difficult for younger consumers to quickly recognize and remember when presented mainly through text or product information. As a lightweight visual connector, an IP character transforms regional culture from information that needs to be read into an image that can be seen, remembered, and shared.
EXPERIMENT
The project began by extracting visual elements from the brand background, ecological agriculture, and regional cultural characteristics. I developed the IP concept, refined the character design and optimized its visual details, then extended the character into brand presentation scenarios and related materials. The project explored how a single character could evolve into a broader visual asset for the brand.
REFLECT
This project strengthened my interest in how regional culture can be transformed into visual symbols that are recognizable, memorable, and communicable. IP design is not simply about creating a “cute character”; more importantly, it can carry brand information and serve as a direct visual interface between brand culture and consumers.
